This is a personal website. It is built as a static site, which means it collects as little data as technically possible. Here is the complete picture.
What this site collects
The site itself does not ask you to sign up or fill in anything, and it has no ads. Pages are plain HTML served from a content delivery network; standard server logs (IP address, browser type, pages requested) may be kept briefly by the hosting provider, Cloudflare Pages, under Cloudflare's privacy policy.
Analytics and session recordings
This site uses Google Tag Manager to load two analytics tools: Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity. Both set cookies in your browser.
Google Analytics shows how many people visit, which pages they read and where they come from. It collects information such as your approximate location, device and browser type, and the pages you view. You can opt out with the Google Analytics opt-out browser add-on. Google's handling of this data is described in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.
Microsoft Clarity records how visitors use the site, such as clicks, scrolling and mouse movement, and can replay a visit as an anonymous session recording. Clarity masks sensitive text by default, and this site has no forms or logins. See Microsoft's privacy statement.
I use these tools to understand which posts are useful and where the site is confusing, not to build profiles of individual readers. You can also block cookies and scripts in your browser settings, and the site will still work.
